Lung Cancer Definitely Needs a Paddling

Everyone knows I love a good party, especially if it's a fundraiser, but a paddling event to raise money for lung cancer research and awareness? Sounds like my idea of heaven. This is not bashing white water. This is the Chattahoochee River, which is oh-so-lovely in May, and a delightful paddling venue right in the middle of north Atlanta. I will be taking names of everyone who does not participate and eliminating you from my Will, except for the Arogetis, who have a simcha that day and are excused. But just barely. And we will miss them. Please, please show your support for the eradication of lung cancer, preferably in my lifetime. If you're coming from out of town we can arrange lodging.

And YES I will be there, with John, Brent and one or two dachshunds, at least.

The link to registration is to the right. No excuses. Be there.

Hello my friend....Here I am on Saturday night stuffing my face with Thin Mints (Girl Scout Cookies) and reading your blog....... and, yes, of course I am washing them down with a good Cabernet.

Of course, I won't let you down. ARE YOU EVEN KIDDING.......I am connected to every Lung Cancer Thought Leader in the WORLD and we will take you wherever you need to go.....Of course, the docs you have on board are doing a great job.....

Lung Cancer does need a paddling and this disease has no idea just how hard Elyse is going to kick its butt......

If I didn't have such an ill Mom and a grandson that is making is First Holy Communion I would be at the end of the trip guiding you in.....

Don't forget to bring your inhalers........

I love you so much.......See you in SF. We will have dinner with Richard.....

XOXOXOXOXOX

Hey Elyse--

This comment is really for your blog readers. I wanted to let everyone know that registration for the event closes April 16, because we have to give the outfitter a head count for the boats. Day of the event registration is NOT possible unless you bring your own boat. So if you're not sure you can make it, register anyway and if your plans change you will have made a (tax deductible, I think) donation to the NLCP.

Looking forward to getting you back out on the water again, my friend.

I want 4 dachsunds (Dewie with me please) and assurance that I will not be tossed out of the boat this time (John????)! And please make sure someone remembers the sandwich meat! Neil, David and I are totally psyched about the trip! Amy, thanks for all your hard work and planning! Love, Liz

I will be there, but am hopeful it won't require much skill. You know me. And I might have to fight Liz for Dewie eyes.

The beauty of this recipe lies in the fact that soup can be prepared for it all year round, because zucchini can be frozen if necessary.
