Topped off with tons of love and well wishes. My, what a year its been...I believe the Grateful Dead phrased it as "lately it occurs to me what a long, strange trip its been." And interestingly enough, that is from the song TRUCKIN'..and you have been truckin'! Thank you for including us in the journey and giving us all something to think about - especially when it comes to appreciating the smallest of joys and pleasures of LIFE! From this day forward, may the adventure be a memory and your life be LONG and BORING!!!!

A year ago, most of us never knew what a pneumonectomy was, much less how to spell or pronounce it, we thought PET meant the equivalent of Dash, Dewey, Dot, and Sammy Davis Jr, Jr., and we had no idea who Dr. Scheinberg was or where Atlanta Cancer Care was, and we never envisioned ourselves canoeing for the cause of lung cancer. What a difference a year makes! And you have proven that more than anyone. Your strength and resolve have shown that you have overcome the odds and will continue to fight and teach us all new things, and we will listen and learn, and be inspired by you.
Continue on your great path, and G-D bless.

it was so great reading that poem and all the good news it contained for you. I forwarded it to Susan Corenblum Greene and Stewart Perlman. Both wanted you to know how happy they were for you. Keep up the great work! Marshall

I am sorry Elyse for stepping out of your world. I was hurting for you and not knowing if the comedy was appropriate. Your words and poems, lyrics, updates are all so inspiring and driving and yet I sit with no ability to help. Is is ok to make you laugh again? LH&P Steve for the family.

This is for John to Ali - miss you Buddy. In my mind, The boss along with Bernie Taupin and Dylan are the lyricists of the world..

Springsteen - waiting on a sunny day.

"
Its rainin but there aint a cloud in the sky
Must of been a tear from your eye
Everythingll be okay
Funny, thought I felt a sweet summer breeze
Must of been you sighin so deep
Dont worry were gonna find a way

Im waitin, waitin on a sunny day
Gonna chase the clouds away
Waitin on a sunny day

Without you, Im workin with the rain fallin down
Im half a party in a one dog town
I need you to chase these blues away
Without you, Im a drummer girl that cant keep a beat
An ice cream truck on a deserted street
I hope that youre coming to stay

Im waitin, waitin on a sunny day
Gonna chase the clouds away
Waitin on a sunny day

Hard times, baby well they come to us all
Sure as the tickin of the clock on the wall
Sure as the turnin of the night into day
Your smile girl, brings the mornin light to my eyes
Lifts away the bleus when I rise
I hope that youre coming to stay

Im waitin, waitin on a sunny day
Gonna chase the clouds away
Waitin on a sunny day"

It is hard to deal with the disease with so many check ups and therapies and dealing with the depression that it causes.I feel it is more a mental fight than the painful physical fight. All the very best for being strong and brave...and wish you better health in the coming days.
