Good Morning!

Good morning campers! It's time to get out of bed, shower and inhale that first cup of coffee!

I slept well and have bathed with help from my wonderful nurse. It's a little on the early side, but it feels good to be sitting up, hunting and pecking away on Brent's laptop.

All those prayers must have worked, because not only did I get the surgical result that I was looking for, the recovery is progressing nicely. Of course, I still have an epidural that keeps the pain medicine flowing 24/7.

I have not been eating much. Yesterday I had fruit for lunch and then fruit and oatmeal for dinner. Hospital food is not for me. John will have to be a little creative to nourish me.

I will report back on my progress later.

GOOD MORNING!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is wonderful to 'hear' from you. Golly gosh you are amazing. Major surgery and you're up and about like it was an ingrown toenail! We are just so thrilled and happy that it is beyond words. Usually, I hate to say I told you so (yea, right), but I knew in my heart, soul and gut you were going to be victorious. Because, after all, you are AWESOMEberg! Can't wait to see you, but I will hold off until you are out of the ICU. Kisses, hugs and lots of love your way.

Elyse,
How wonderful to "hear your voice!!!" You are simply amazing, and truly resilient, as we all know by now. Best of everything to continue this remarkable recovery. More love, prayers and hugs from the Silvers.

Wow, up, eating, walking, bathing, blogging... you are our hero & inspiration. Hurray for the results for which we all prayer. Don't over do it, now. On the other hand, I do have a few closets that need organizing if you can be here by 9am... Can't wait to see your smiling face. Love to you, John and Brent from Susan, Mark & Sam

Good morning. I am so... thrilled you are back on the computer and I am sure back to listening to v.m. Knowing that you blog'd today was better then a hug. I am staying away from the hospital since you now need time to heal. Just think of your nurses as your spa attendants. I am sure that will put a huge smile on your face. And soon enough we will plan our next spa trip.

All I can say is ALI is the greatest of all time in his profession... you are as amazing if not more so than he was in his prime.. stay with JD your corner cut man and you will be dancing shortly...

It is just hard to believe you can be up and at em just days after something like that. So glad to see it went well and you are up and "talking". Joe A. spoke of you at the meeting last night and let them know you had successful surgery. Keep up the great work!!

Dear Elyse,

Indeed, what a great morning this is! All our prayers have been answered. You are truly amazing. The doctor may have removed your lung, but your warmth of spirit, humor and zest for life remain intact. It was so great to read your words today. You say that we give you strength, but believe me, what I have learned from you about courage and sheer power of the soul has been overwhelming. You are my hero. I'll go camping with you anytime! Sending you gentle hugs and lots of kisses.
Love,
Jane
PS Liz taught me how to blog! Being a hurrican refugee in the Aussenberg house has its benefits.

Good morning, Elyse! Wow..its great to hear from you so soon. You are remarkable!

Justin keeps asking to come and visit you, as he told me last night, you and Ann are his "other moms" and he needs to see you. I told him you need a few days to recover - but want you to know that we are thinking about you and are with you virtually.

Sending gentle hugs, lots of prayers and a great big HURRAH for you!!!!!!

Love,
Lorie, Justin and Lex

Glad you had a restful nights sleep. Hope you are not overdoing it with company. Were you actually taking a bath at 3 am? Looks like my fellow bloggers are sleep deprived, based on the times of their entries! Holly, Doc Dave and wife Debbie, and Diane have called to check up on you. Diane just finished her first round of chemo. Felt good yesterday, and like a train hit her today. I know you can relate. She has had two families staying with her due to the hurricane and is exhausted. Burton got power today. Two weeks out of the house with twin babies! He bought their birthday cupcakes before the storm hit and placed them in his oven for safe keeping. When his electricity went out the oven doors automatically locked! He came home to a lovely surprise! Get some good rest and talk to you soon! Liz

Elyse,
I am so glad to read that you are on the mend! Mt recommendation is to have John bring in a black light, some Peter Max posters, psychedelic music followed by pushing that pain med button and you'll think you are back in college! Looking forward to seeing you soon.
