The dachshunds are grinning from ear to ear John is reading Brent is doing homework and I am arranging pillows on the bed. I will sink into them and close my eyes and give thanks. For doctors, nurses, family, friends, the gift of life.
Sweetest dreams.

WELCOME HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!
L'SHANA TOVAH!!!!!!!!!!!!
PEACE AND HEALTH!!!!!!!!!
Good things DO happen to good people. I know your bed will feel like heaven on earth. I'm so happy to hear you are home and relishing in the normalcy of your world. I enjoyed seeing Neil and your Mom at services, if only briefly. Even for those who don't celebrate Rosh Hashanah (Jewish or not), you can't deny the boost of a NEW YEAR and the promises it holds. I hope to see you soon!
Elyse,
L'Shana Tovah and welcome home. Your spirit is amazing--and your strength an inspiration. May this year bring you health and peace and the continued love of so many around you. Wendy
Elyse
So happy you are home. Dachshunds really give you a welcome home!!! Our prayers have truly been answered--your successful surgery, smooth recovery so far and a great future to look forward to. We know you have a great future ahead.
Love to you always
Joyce & Fred, Ziggy & Dudley
What a perfect beginning to a new year! Take it easy and let your body heal. Let's both pray for a cancer-free year of health and happiness!
Home, sweet home! What a great way to start the New Year!
Wishing you, John and Brent a year of good health, good health, and more good health.
Lots of love,
Rachel & Eric
How wonderful to be home and in your very own bed! Happy, Happy New Year, Elyse, John and Brent and puppy dogs! What would we do without those loving little critters? It will certainly help to speed up your recovery surrounded by all that love!
xoxo

Welcome home!!It's always good to be with the doggies, I mean family! They bring a strange sense of comfort that only they can give, I mean the dogs:) What an amazing blessing and miracle. It just strengthens my belief in the power of prayer and the positive energy that can be sent to others when they are loved by so many! Enjoy the peace of being in home in your own bed! Love ya, Bridgette

It must have been so nice to be greeted by all those licks and yelps from the doggies and the excitement from Brent and John that you are home. Rest up, enjoy this fabulous weather, the change of the seasons and the change for the better in your health in the New Year.

Hi Elyse,
You've been home a few days and I hope your lack of blogging is a good sign. I also hope you're getting plenty of rest and doing lots of healing. Just wanted to let you know we are thinking of you and wishing you well.
NOTE TO BURTON: You're a pretty brave guy taking on milkshakes like that!
It was SO good to see you walking down your driveway on this beautiful day!
As you have throughout this entire "episode," you continue to amaze me. Strength, determination, grace -- they all emanate from you and I'm more proud than ever to be able to be part of your life.
Patti
