A Change of Plans

Today brought a new plan, courtesy of the Big Three (Scheinberg, Moore, Dubovsky). Tomorrow I am going to undergo two procedures performed by the surgeon, Dr. Moore. He will perform his own bronchoscopy and he will also obtain samples of lymph nodes on my right side. This involves making an incision in my chest, under general anesthesia. Apparently, at this point, the only "red light" to the surgery is whether my right side is infected. If so, then I will receive other treatment before surgery. If not, my understanding is that I will have surgery to remove my lung 7 to 10 days from tomorrow. The wait is due to the general anesthesia I will require tomorrow.

So, more waiting, but with the waiting will come more knowledge, so I will not complain.

Based on my recovery from the two endoscopic procedures, I fully expect to feel lousy tomorrow, and several days thereafter.

I will keep you posted, even if by a surrogate blogger.

Love to all.

Elyse - as you said earlier, disease states create a lot of uncertainty and treatment is as much perfected art as it is science. Your team will blend both of these and at times you will be frustrated. I know you will continue to keep your eye on the prize and your attitude will eclipse any negative thoughts. Your will to win will carry you to victory.. Onto my wannabe profession...

Lawyer to witness: " It is true, is it not, that on the third of Sept. 2003, you and the accused visited a brothel dressed as nuns and asked to be whipped senseless by a nude midget?"

The defendant replies, " I'm not sure. What was the date again?"
Prosecutor to defendant: " Madam, please explain to this court how you came to stab your husband 153 times."

Defendant: " I couldn't find the on/off switch on the electric knife."

An old lady is polishing a lamp when a genie appears and offers her three wishes. " I'd like to be young and beautiful again," says the old lady. " I'd like this little cottage to be a fine mansion, and I'd like my cat, Tiddles to be a handsome prince." The genie grants the 3 wishes and the old lady, the cottage and Tiddles are transformed.

The beautiful young woman swoons into the handsome prince's arm and he gently whispers in her ear, " Now I bet you hadn't taken me to the vet for that little operation..."
